We are seeking a dedicated Intermediate Level Software Engineer-Pega to join our dynamic startup-minded team within the Complaints Technology organization at USAA. Within defined guidelines and framework provides support to the Enterprise through delivering best in class technology solutions. Engaged in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements designing testing documenting and implementing software responding to outages.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position will be based in San Antonio; TX Plano; TX or Phoenix; AZ. Relocation assistance IS available for this position.

What youll do:

• Design develop code and test technical solutions.

• Write code to deliver features and improvements on a regular basisInvestigates and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.

• Continually improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.

• Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications standards and programming.

• Follows the software development lifecycle.

• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified measured monitored and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelors Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree OR Approved certification from CodeUp Galvanize VetFIT (Veterans for IT) or eFIT (Employees for IT).

• 2 years of software development experience specific to a discipline/technology.

• 1 year of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.

• Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java Swift Objective-C Cobol JavaScript Kotlin C HTML CSS SQL Go and Python.

• Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues.

• Ability to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions.

• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

• Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.

What sets you apart:

• 3 years of Pega BPM development experience along with being a Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA).

• Experience working in an Agile Framework with Scrum or Kanban.

• Experience with Pega UI toolkit or Constellation development.

• Experience with Pega REST and Bulk APIs along with integration knowledge building APIs with Spring Boot and Go Lang.

• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77120- $147390.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
