Job Title: Mens Soccer Coach
Location: Macon Early College
Position Summary
The Mens Soccer Coach is responsible for leading and developing a competitive education-based soccer program that supports the academic and personal growth of student-athletes. The coach will emphasize skill development teamwork sportsmanship and accountability while ensuring compliance with all school district and state athletic regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Plan organize and supervise all practices games and team activities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive soccer program aligned with the schools mission
- Instruct student-athletes in fundamental and advanced soccer skills tactics and conditioning
Student-Athlete Development
- Promote academic success and monitor eligibility of all players
- Foster leadership discipline respect and teamwork
- Create a positive safe and inclusive team environment
Game & Practice Management
- Design and execute effective practice plans and seasonal schedules
- Prepare the team for competition through scouting and game strategy
- Supervise athletes during practices competitions and team travel
Compliance & Administration
- Adhere to all district conference and state athletic association policies
- Maintain accurate records (rosters statistics equipment inventory etc.)
- Communicate regularly with administration parents and student-athletes
Program Support
- Manage equipment and uniform distribution/collection
- Support fundraising efforts and promote the soccer program
- Attend required meetings trainings and professional development
Qualifications
- Previous soccer coaching or playing experience preferred
- Knowledge of soccer rules techniques and game strategies
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively mentor high school/early college student-athletes
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet all district and state coaching requirements
Working Conditions
- Availability for after-school practices games and occasional weekends
- Travel required for away competitions
- Ability to demonstrate soccer skills and actively participate in practices
