Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people across the Mount Isa regionAs part of our Bail Response Program Team youll be part of a wrap-around service that supports young people who have come into contact with the youth justice system. A place to make a difference:

In this full-time maximum term opportunity (through to end of December 2026 with strong potential for extension) youll work with young people in the youth justice system who have bail conditions that must be met and require support to meet their bail conditions. Based in Mount Isa youll be part of our Bail Response Program team and report to the Team Leader.

You will make a difference by:

  • Providing support to young people involved in the youth justice system through intensive case work follow-up and referrals to other specialist services
  • Providing a culturally responsive service by embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the design delivery and evaluation of your programs and services
  • Providing young people with case management support that is collaborative coordinated and client-centred
  • Supporting young people to meet their individual needs and to increase their self-reliance and independence
  • Monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people particularly young people in contact with the justice system
  • Demonstrated experience in youth work / case management roles
  • An understanding of complex intergenerational trauma
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding of child protection concerns and commitment to responding safely and effectively
  • Sound time management and organisational skills and ability to manage and plan own workload
