Job Summary

Were creating a brand new Internal Communications Assistant role the first of its kind at DN Colleges Group to help shape how we communicate with our people and support a more connected informed workforce.

This is an onsite role within a multisite organisation. You will be based at either Doncaster College or North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe depending on proximity to home with an expectation of regular travel between sites as part of the role.

Working within the Organisational Development area of People Services this is a great opportunity for someone with strong communication skills who enjoys listening joining the dots and working closely with HR OD and Talent colleagues to support staff engagement development and internal opportunity.

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join our People Services team. As a growing multisite organisation we want to strengthen how we communicate internally so colleagues across all our colleges receive clear timely information and feel aligned with DN Colleges Group priorities.

As Internal Communications Assistant youll support the development and delivery of internal communications across the Group. Youll work closely with HR OD Talent Acquisition colleagues and senior leaders to help ensure messages are joined up peoplefocused and well planned.

Your Focus will be on:

  • Supporting clear purposeful and engaging communication to colleagues across the Group
  • Coordinating messages so people receive the right information at the right time in a way that supports understanding and engagement
  • Supporting staff voice initiatives helping to collect and communicate feedback so colleagues feel heard and understood
  • Enabling effective communication around staff engagement wellbeing and development activity including internal opportunities for growth and progression
  • Strengthening awareness and visibility of opportunities initiatives and key updates across the organisation
  • Helping connect organisational priorities people initiatives and daytoday activity through thoughtful wellplanned internal communication

This is a handson practical role with real scope to grow ideal for someone who enjoys organising improving and shaping how information is shared.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Acting as a central link between teams helping ensure priorities initiatives and messages are connected well timed and clearly understood by colleagues
  • Working with People Services colleagues and senior leaders to support clear aligned and purposeful communication across the organisation
  • Supporting communication around staff development learning opportunities wellbeing initiatives and peoplefocused programmes
  • Planning internal communications activity in advance while remaining responsive to emerging and timesensitive priorities
  • Making effective use of internal communication channels to reach different audiences across the Group
  • Listening to whats happening across the organisation gathering feedback and insight and helping ensure important messages are not missed
  • Supporting employee engagement activity including communication before during and after engagement surveys and listening exercises
  • Building strong trusted working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the organisation
  • Youll play a key role in helping colleagues feel informed connected and engaged and in supporting a shared understanding of whats happening across the Group and why it matters.

About You

Were looking for someone who is:

  • A clear confident and engaging communicator comfortable crafting messages and communicating in person with colleagues and groups
  • Confident working with senior leaders to help shape clear aligned and peoplefocused communication
  • Curious and observant with a habit of listening spotting themes and ensuring key messages are not missed
  • Organised and able to plan communications in advance while remaining flexible and responsive to emerging priorities
  • Interested in employee engagement and culture with experience supporting engagement activity such as annual surveys or listening exercises
  • Comfortable making effective use of a range of communication channels
  • Professional trusted and discreet able to handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Collaborative and approachable able to build constructive relationships across the organisation

You may have experience in HR communications marketing or an administrative role with a communications focus or be looking to develop your career in this space.

Experience in education is helpful but not essential.
