Job Summary
About the Role:
The primary purpose of the Warehouse Supervisor role is to provide leadership in the development and execution of stock distribution and receiving systems aligning with PPNZ Christchurchs lean manufacturing goals. This entails overseeing warehousing inwards and outwards goods operations import & export containers for devanning and loading managing product distribution to customers and facilitating inter-site movements.
Reporting to the Production Planner & Distribution Manager youll lead team development and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining strong cost control and operational efficiency. Youll also manage key stakeholder relationships and ensure inventory accuracy through regular stocktakes and cycle counts.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Efficient and effective leadership of warehousing inwards and outwards goods operations.
- Timely and accurate management of product distribution to customers and inter-site movements.
- Development and implementation of process enhancements and team development initiatives.
- Cost control measures lead to operational effectiveness.
- Maintenance of strong relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers subcontractors and clients.
- Regular execution of stocktakes and warehouse cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Compliance with health safety and environmental policies.
- Adherence to quality management systems and procedures.
- Prompt and clear communication with internal departments and external customers to address any issues or challenges effectively.
- Support for companywide initiatives aimed at improving service levels and overall performance.
To be successful in this role youll have:
- Proven experience in warehouse or distribution operations
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
- Forklift licence (Reach and Counterbalance)
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with SAP and knowledge of AS/NZ ISO 9000 standards
- First Aid certification
- MPI Accredited Person (TFO)
