As a Senior Director Technical Accounting youll contribute to our success in the following ways:
- Serves as the companys primary authority on US GAAP; researches and documents complex and emerging accounting issues through formal technical accounting memos and position papers.
- Owns the end-to-end financial statement audit process from planning through issuance; serves as primary management liaison to external auditors.
- Manages accounting and reporting of the companys debt and equity transactions; responsible for debt covenant compliance reporting
- Leads preparation and delivery of GAAP-compliant financial statements to owner and investor stakeholders with audit-readiness and precision.
- Leads the accounting for complex transactions including acquisitions business combinations debt financings and post-acquisition integration; coordinates valuations prepared by external consultants and documents purchase price allocations under ASC 805.
- Manages accounting for a large diverse portfolio of real estate and vehicle leases under ASC 842 including lease classification testing present value calculations right-of-use asset and liability measurement and all required disclosures.
- Manages and develops a team of accountants covering goodwill intangibles project accounting grants and lease accounting; provides ongoing mentoring performance feedback and professional development.
- Maintains and updates the companys accounting policies; ensures policies remain aligned with current US GAAP requirements and evolving business activities.
- Monitors emerging accounting guidance; evaluates impact to the companys financial statements and leads cross-functional implementation of new and updated standards.
- Partners with business legal and operational stakeholders on the accounting analysis of new transactions contracts and business activities including identification of financial reporting implications and relevant internal control considerations.
- Performs ongoing assessments for complex accounting areas including goodwill impairment intangible asset impairment fair value measurements and debt accounting; manages related disclosures.
- Builds and sustains strong cross-functional relationships with the leadership team Finance Operations and IT.
What is Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
- Masters degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive management experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting to owners investors or shareholders.
- Prior external audit experience preferred.
- Active CPA required.
- Deep expertise in US GAAP with particular strength in ASC 842 (lease accounting) and ASC 805 (business combinations)
- Strong understanding of financial reporting to owner and investor stakeholders including preparation and delivery of complete audited GAAP financial statements
