Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality preventive dental care and patient education. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering safe efficient and patient-centered care while supporting clinical operations in a fast-paced dental setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine dental cleanings scaling and root planing
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Assist dentists during oral examinations and procedures
- Review and verify patient medical and dental histories
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Ensure patient comfort throughout treatment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments in compliance with infection control protocols
- Adhere to all safety regulatory and clinical standards
- Collaborate effectively with dentists and clinical staff
- Support administrative tasks such as documentation and data entry as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program required
- Active and valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of New York
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures including scaling and radiography
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is a plus
- Solid understanding of infection control and safety standards
