Position Overview
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) Behavioral Health will partner closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing services within the Behavioral Health division. This leadership role is responsible for driving clinical excellence patient safety employee engagement regulatory compliance and operational performance across inpatient behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
Support the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards
Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across Behavioral Health services
Monitor incident trends patient complaints and risk management activities to ensure timely resolution
Identify operational gaps and implement corrective action plans to improve outcomes
Service Excellence
Foster a culture focused on patient-centered care and exceptional service delivery
Lead patient satisfaction and service recovery initiatives
Support recruitment retention and staff engagement efforts within nursing teams
Promote a positive and collaborative clinical environment
Leadership & Staff Development
Provide leadership mentorship and accountability for nursing leadership teams
Support ongoing staff education onboarding competency validation and professional development
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary departments to strengthen patient care delivery
Assist in succession planning and leadership development initiatives
Operations & Financial Management
Assist with nursing operations staffing strategies and budget management
Support organizational initiatives focused on operational efficiency and cost management
Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required
Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) Required
Experience
Minimum 5 years of nursing leadership/supervisory experience
Minimum 5 years of inpatient Behavioral Health leadership experience required
Must currently hold a leadership role at the Unit Director level or higher
Candidates with only outpatient Behavioral Health experience will not be considered
