The Role

We are currently recruiting for a General Foreman - Concrete to join our team on site at Keyera in Gordondale AB

The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing all concrete related work on a construction project ensuring it is completed safely and on schedule and to the required quality standards.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Can hire as a direct employee or as a *Direct Service Provider/Sub Contractor.
  • Competitive hourly wage. Negotiable based on experience.
  • Health dental vision travel benefits (50/50 split) after 90 days.

  • 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on all regular hours worked.
  • Cell phone allowance or company provided cell phone.

*DSPs - hourly wage only no overtime no benefits no vacation or stat holiday pay

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of industrial concrete construction (building foundations pump pedestals flat work winter concrete pile caps etc..)
  • Assist in directing the crew on multiple concrete related scopes while ensuring the safety of the crew and adherence to permit restrictions.
  • Communication with the team through daily safety meetings.
  • Set up work completion schedules.
  • Assist with project estimating including labour supplies and materials.
  • Execute work in line with federal provincial and client and company quality standards codes and safety regulations.
  • Daily interactions with clients on progress and project requirements.
  • Assist Construction Manager on daily reports schedules and manpower.

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years concrete experience managing concrete crews and sub-trades
  • Pumphouse experience is a huge asset (Gradbeam Pedestal & Slab)
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Leadership Safety Excellence (LSE) required
  • Experience in scheduling and labour budget preparation.
  • Experience in Microsoft and/or Google applications.
  • A demonstrated background in team leadership with a focus on worksite safety
  • Must have valid safety tickets (H2S Alive First Aid CSTS 2020 (or equivalent) WHMIS 2015)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Needs to be flexible with working out of town on various shifts
