Job Summary
Ulbrich of California is currently seeking a Slitter Operator for their West Coast Service Center located in Pico Rivera CA.
Slitter Operator Responsibilities Include:
- Set up operate and adjust slitting machines according to work orders and specifications
- Read and interpret production orders coil specs and tolerances
- Inspect material before during and after processing to ensure quality standards are met
- Measure slit widths and edge quality to verify accuracy
- Follow all safety quality and company procedures at all times
- Loading and unloading steel coils onto a slitting machine
- Cutting cores for metal to be wound onto from a slitting machine
- Driving a sit-down forklift to retrieve steel coils from inventory racks
- Weighing steel coils and handling scrap metal
- Banding skids and packaging steel coils
- Lifting coils and packages that weigh a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Creating and printing ID tags for coils
- Entering production data and measurements into a computer system
- Making calculations using mathematical formulas
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Qualified candidates will have:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of previous related experience operating process machinery along with forklift driving.
- Ability to read write and interpret written documents problem solve and perform basic math calculations to a level generally equivalent to that attained at a high school level including the use and calculation of decimals fractions.
- Ability to use micrometer caliper scale and fixed gauges and other simple measuring equipment.
- Ability to make operating adjustments to maintain quality.
- Ability to work from job orders customer specifications and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to use reason and judgment in the planning and performance of duties.
Pay Range:
$27.77 - $31.96 an hour
