DescriptionPosition Overview
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the organizations financial operations ensuring accuracy compliance and strategic alignment with business objectives. This role leads financial planning reporting and process improvement while maintaining strong internal controls and supporting executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial packages for leadership review
- Perform budgeting forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic planning
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to inform business decisions
- Review Project Status Reports (PSRs) to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
Accounting & Close Processes
- Perform month-end close activities including payroll journal entries and general month-end journal entries
- Process monthly subcontractor invoices
- Formalize and continuously improve balance sheet reconciliation processes
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of 941 reconciliations
- Serve as backup for critical accounting and finance functions
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes including ACH payment workflows
- Implement best practices to improve efficiency accuracy and scalability of finance operations
Compliance & Controls
- Oversee internal and external audits ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Review update and enforce financial policies and procedures to maintain compliance and strengthen internal controls
RequirementsQualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 7 years of progressive finance/accounting experience including leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls
- Experience with financial systems process automation and audit management. Deltek CostPoint preferred
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
