Data Solutions Architect

Job Summary
Join our Digital team as a Data Solution Architect where youll lead the design of data solutions that support our clients strategic and business objectives. Acting as the bridge between development teams and project stakeholders youll help translate complex technical and business requirements into practical scalable solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
You will work closely alongside a talented cross-functional team of Analysts Scientists and Engineers youll help deliver scalable secure and future-focused solutions that align with both client objectives and AECOMs strategic vision.
Heres what youll do:
Solution Design & Architecture
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade data solutions and platforms ensuring standard quality metrics and alignment with client and AECOMs business objectives.
- Translate complex business needs into captured technical requirements for development teams.
- Develop data-centric architecture utilising patters such as lakehouse models streaming architectures and AI-driven platforms.
Data Management & Governance
- Define and implement data governance frameworks ensuring alignment with our clients environmental requirements as well as compliance industry standards and best practices.
- Lead large-scale cloud data ops such as warehouse migrations or digital twin implementation.
Technology Leadership
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance AECOMs data and solution architecture capabilities.
- Act as a technical leader facilitating discussions on architectural trade-offs standard practices and risk mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate and innovate with Project Stakeholders and client representatives to identify wider digital and transformation opportunities.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders ensuring clarity and alignment.
Qualifications :
Ready to push the limits of whats possible
Heres what were looking for:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Mathematics or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred; Scala Java or C# also beneficial).
- Understanding of Data Engineering concepts (ETL Medallion Real-Time Streaming Orchestration).
- Understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD version control (Git) testing frameworks)
- Understanding of APIs REST principles and data integration patterns.
