The Impact You Will Have

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (API Developer) to join our Enterprise Integrations development team! In this role your main focus will be to build and maintain enterprise APIs. As a Senior Software Engineer (API Developer) you will work independently in addition to supporting strategic business initiatives and be a key collaborator with business partners.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design code and developsoftware.
  • Work collaboratively on a daily scrum team with a scrum master product owner analysts other developers and testers to iteratively deliver functional code to production.
  • Provide technical leadership for projects and products to ensure usability usefulness feasibility and cost effectiveness.
  • Work with analysts and customers to establish product or project requirements.
  • Contribute innovative solutions while utilizing best practices design standards and governance.
  • Research technology trends and contribute to designs and technology platform decisions.
  • Mentor lead train other developers.
  • This job mayinclude on-call duties.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work education transferable skills and military experience will be considered.
  • Cloud Service Provider Certification (e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner Azure Fundamentals etc.) required within 1 year of employment
  • Essential Candidate Qualities:
    • Creative thinking strong communication skills creativity curiosity self-motivated time managements skills
  • Strong development experience using:
    • Java Springboot AWS Fargate AWS ECS GITLab REST APIs SOAP
  • Knowledge experience and familiarity with:
    • JavaScript Node JS API SQL Database NoSQL AWS Lambda
  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Experience with agile DevOps IT Service Management and other development and support processes and methodologies.
  • In depth prototype design and implementation experience.
  • Development experience using:
    • Terraform Groovy OOP Test Automation AWS cloud infrastructure SQL Database
  • Tools Experience:
    • FHIR HAPI FHIR Jira Microsoft Teams
  • Other Experience:
    • Health Care Industry

Our hybrid approach is designed to balance flexibility with meaningful in-person connection and collaboration. We come together in the office two days each week most teams designate at least one anchor day to ensure team interaction. These in-person moments foster relationships creativity and alignment. The rest of the week you are empowered to work remote.

Compensation and Benefits

$102400.00 - $138300.00 - $174200.00 Annual

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position including skills ability and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
