Monday-Friday Start times between 7:30am - 8:00am End times between 4:00pm-4:45pm. Must work a minimum of three 8 hour shifts per month. Hours will be variable during business hours.

This position does not provide benefits of insurance or PTO does come with 401K retirement options.

Pay Range

$21.85 - $32.80

Licensure or Certifications

  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within45 daysunless department leader has determined it is notrequired.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices

Degrees:

  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing

As aMedicalAssistantyoullplay a vital roleinthe care team supporting providers connecting with patients and helping ensure a seamless compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team you will:

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs medical histories and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams andassistproviders during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians nurses and teammates to deliver high-quality coordinated care.

About This Location:

The Aurora Family Medicine clinic at Rivercenter Drive is a full-service primary care practice offering preventive acute and chronic care for patients of all ages with strong integration into a broader specialty and hospital network for coordinated whole-person care.

1. Full-spectrum primary care for all ages
This clinic functions as a first point of contact in the healthcare system providing care for children adults and seniors. Providers are trained in general medicine and manage a wide range of everyday health needs.

2. Strong focus on preventive and routine care
A big part of the clinics role is keeping patients healthy through:

  • Annual physicals and wellness visits
  • Immunizations
  • Screenings and early detection
  • Lifestyle counseling (diet fitness)

3. Chronic and acute care management
The clinic treats both short-term illnesses (e.g. infections minor injuries) and long-term conditions like diabetes asthma heart disease and hypertension.

4. Coordinated integrated care
Because its inside a large Aurora Health Center the clinic can easily:

  • Refer patients to specialists (cardiology endocrinology etc.)
  • Coordinate care across multiple services
  • Provide access to on-site labs imaging urgent care and specialty clinics

5. Family-oriented continuous care relationship
Family medicine providers typically build long-term relationships with patients managing their health over time and across different needs from pediatric visits to geriatric care.

6. Broad service scope
In addition to general medical care services often include:

  • Behavioral/mental health support
  • Well-child visits and school physicals
  • Womens health basics (in coordination with OB/GYN)
  • Minor joint skin and common condition treatment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to sit stand walk lift squat bend reach above shoulders and twistfrequentlythroughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients medical equipment and supplies.
  • Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have functional speech vision hearing and touch withabilityto use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation if needed.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore protective clothing and equipment must bewornas necessary.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Physical Abilities Testing may berequired.
  • Additionaldepartment specific physical requirements may beidentifiedfor unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
