Position Title: Inpatient Adult/Chemical Dependency Psychiatrist

Location: Harahan LA

River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital located in the suburbs of New Orleans Louisiana is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults adolescents and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness dual diagnosis alcohol and drug detoxification trauma based disorders compulsive behaviors and eating disorders.

Position Overview:

• Employment Type: Full-time Hospital Employed
• Schedule / Hours: On-site Monday-Friday
• Patient Volume: negotiable 15-20 daily caseload
• Location: Harahan LA
• Practice Setting: Inpatient ages 18 and older all ages for weekend call
• Call requirements: 1 night a week overnight tele-phonic call 1:4 weekend call
• Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BH Techs BH RN Psychiatric NPs Social Workers and Therapists

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct admission evaluations develop treatment plans and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
• Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Addiction Psychiatry a plus.
• Must be comfortable treating both General Adult and Addiction caseloads.
• Active LA license or ability to obtain licensure
