Job Summary

Location: Cape Girardeau MO

Must be able to travel to Fredericktown Perryville Ste Genevieve Marble Hill locations.
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Full-Time Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED / HSE (at minimum)
  • Must be a family member with a child who has been or currently has a behavioral or emotional disorder and has received mental health services.
  • Must successfully complete the FSP training as approved and provided by MO DMH
  • Must meet appropriate background checks from DSS DMH and Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Must be a Missouri Resident for at least two years.
  • Travel in own vehicle is required -
    • Must hold or obtain by start date MO Class E Drivers License (Class D for IL Residents) and proof of continuous auto insurance. Must also meet CCCs Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation.

What is a Family Support Provider

Responsible for assisting with the delivery of Family Support Services for clients; identifying potential candidates for recruitment; coordinating family support services throughout our CPRC programming and other agency departments as well as participating in activities associated with stigma reduction consumer engagement follow-up etc.

Job Functions

  1. Empowerment Through Knowledge:

    • Provide parents and caregivers with essential information about their child/youths needs.
    • Explore treatment options collaboratively ensuring informed decision-making.
  2. Active Participation:

    • Guide parents/caregivers through the planning process.
    • Emphasize the importance of their voice in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
  3. Voice Amplification:

    • Empower parents/caregivers to advocate effectively during planning meetings.
    • Ensure their perspectives are heard and valued.
  4. Strengths-Based Approach:

    • Work closely with families to highlight the significance of individualized planning.
    • Leverage their inherent strengths to achieve positive outcomes.
  5. Team Collaboration:

    • Educate families on the roles of various providers.
    • Promote a cohesive team approach to holistic care.
  6. Natural Supports:

    • Discuss the benefits of natural family and community supports.
    • Encourage utilization of existing networks.
  7. Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Introduce effective problem-solving methods.
    • Develop strategies to address challenges.
  8. Transition Support:

    • Assist parents/caregivers of Transition Age Youth.
    • Facilitate the shift from decision-maker to supportive role as youth become more independent.
  9. Community Connection:

    • Link families to vital community resources.
    • Strengthen community bonds.
  10. Engagement and Re-Engagement:

    • Foster active engagement with families.
    • Reconnect with those who may have disengaged.
  11. Education Advocacy:

    • Provide education on services available through CCC (Community Care Center).
  12. Community Outreach:

    • Engage with the community to raise awareness.
    • Educate about available resources.
  13. Clinical Team Participation:

    • Collaborate as a valued member of the clinical team.
    • Contribute insights from the clients perspective.
  14. Documentation Excellence:

    • Adhere to clinical policies DMH (Department of Mental Health) guidelines CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) standards and federal/state program requirements.
  15. Client Transportation:

    • Responsible for safe transportation of clients using agency or personal vehicles as needed.
