Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Structures (Sheet Metal) Technicians are an integral part of our Maintenance team. Their experience practical knowledgecreativityand problem-solving skills will ensure that theaircraftstructure and structural systems aremaintainedin an airworthy and dispatch ready status at all times.

The primary duties include carrying out structural inspections repairs modifications corrosioncontroland fabrication ofaircraftsheet metal components while supporting the operational status of Top Aces fleet ofaircraft.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician Structures (Sheet Metal) has a strong understanding ofaircraftstructures be detail-oriented andableto handle the physical demands of the job.

Functional Responsibilitiesin accordance withTop Aces Maintenance Policy Manual:

Ensure the workaccomplishedon anyaircraftorcomponentis performed is performedin accordance withapplicable airworthiness standards and OEM instructionsCompany Policies and ProceduresRegulated safety standards

Primary responsibilities of the Avionics Mission Systems Technician are:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections ofaircraftstructures as directed by the maintenance supervisor
  • Inspect assess repairmodifyor replace damaged or corroded structural components panels skins doublersbracketsand fasteners
  • Fabricate form and fit sheet metal parts using approved data drawingstemplatesand maintenance manuals
  • Carry out blending stop-drilling sealing corrosiontreatmentand protective finish restoration within authorized limits
  • Interpret and use various measuring tools repair schemes blueprints structural repairmanualsand maintenance manuals
  • Ensure that all replacement parts and materials are inspected eligible and properly certified prior to installation
  • Complete work reports for all workaccomplishedon theaircraft
  • Follow company procedures as per the maintenance control manual using safe work practices
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of recent hands-onaircraftstructures / sheet metal maintenance experience in a military commercial or MRO environment (line and/or base maintenance)â
  • Demonstrated experience performing structural inspections damage assessment and repairs/modifications using approved data (e.g. SRM drawings engineering orders) including riveting bonding and use of hi-lock/lockbolt fastenersâ
  • Experience with corrosion detection and treatment structural sealing and surface finish restoration; familiarity with commonaircraftmaterials (aluminum alloys steels titanium) and composites (as applicable)â
  • Proven ability to fabricate and install sheet metal components (layout cutting drilling deburring forming and fitment) using standard aviation hand/tools and precision measuring equipmentââ
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong command of the English language to read understand and interpret manualspoliciesand procedures.â
  • Able to work well in a team and within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Experience and Qualifications

Canadianaircraftstructures / sheet metal training or equivalent military qualification; European counterpart: EASA Part-66 B1.1 mechanical category with structures experience

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform physical work associated with the duties of Aircraft Maintenance Technician Structures (Sheet Metal)

Working Conditions

Fromtime-to-timelocal travel maybe requiredfor the position

Supervisory Training and Advisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise (sub)contracted work of larger projects to structural repairs
  • Providetechnical guidance to other technicians on structural tasks when requested by the supervisor
  • Support training and development of less experienced technicians in structures and sheet metal practices

Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:

You will have the following responsibilitiesin order tocomply withthe companys Occupational Health and Safety program:

  • Working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations
  • Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment
  • Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisorimmediately.
