Student (SRI) Biological Sciences Temporary Full-time
Job Summary
The Biological Sciences Platform(BSP) at the Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto Ontario has an opening for a summer student.
Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) is one of the worlds premier academic medical research centres renowned for our work in medical imaging biology and clinical evaluative sciences. As part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and fully affiliated with the University of Toronto SRI is dedicated to advancing health care through pioneering research and partnerships that translate scientific discoveries into clinical practice.
The position is open to medical students and undergraduates in health sciences engineering medical biophysics or related disciplines in a recognized Canadian university program. The studentship is awarded to a student who is Canadian or a permanent resident with high academic standing (a minimum of GPA 3.30 as calculated by the applicants home university) and has demonstrated interest in the field of research and sciences as a possible future career.
The successful candidate will operate under the supervision of a designated scientist on a research or development project. Responsibilities may include a range of tasks with opportunities to work in different on-site environments enhance technical and analytical competencies and improve scientific communication skills.
Students funded through SRI Research Administration are invited to present their research projects at the Summer Student Poster Competition scheduled for August 12th 2026 in the McLaughlin Auditorium.
Research in the biological sciences platform encompasses fundamental translational and clinical science. Our scientists and trainees use a range of experimental approaches and techniques to understand the mechanisms of healthy and diseased physiology to understand the functions and interconnections of molecules cells organs and systems.
