Position: Full Time RN Coordinator

Shift:E/N 0.9 12 hr shifts
PURPOSE
The ED Coordinator assists the ED Unit Director/Supervisor by coordinating ED patient flow and activities as well as coordinating quality care and treatment of the patient. The ED Coordinator will delegate and prioritize care for the Emergency Department based on departmental acuity and census. The ED Coordinator will serve as a resource and mentor for the ED physicians and staff triage ancillary departments and community services. The ED Coordinator is responsible for completing Medical Imaging and Laboratory follow-ups. The ED Coordinator will facilitate the use of the electronic medical record as well as the paper chart during information systems downtime. The ED Coordinator will promote critical thinking skills from every skill level to enhance safe and quality patient care.
The RN is responsible for coordinating and directing the delivery of competent patient care through the nursing process of assessment planning intervention implementation and caring for a patient population which may include the newborn toddler adolescent adult and the elderly the RN identifies the special needs of the patients age group and respective level of growth and development and plans the care accordingly. The RN directs the implementation of the Plan of Care through performance and/or coordination of the activities of other members of the health care team. NCP/SOC/PER Clinical Pathways Departmental Policies and Procedures are used as the basis to prescribe nursing intervention. The RN is responsible for the evaluation of nursing care given to all patients. The RN revises the plan of care according to the needs of the patient and appropriately implements changes as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing and must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Must have current certification in BLS ACLS PALS and EKG interpretation.
- Must have current ED experience.
- Can demonstrate knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application by current work experience in health care or recent graduate from a professional school of nursing (within last 12 months).
