About Us
At Lac Courte Oreilles Community Health Center we provide integrated healthcare services that support the physical emotional and behavioral well-being of the Tribal community. Our team collaborates across medical behavioral health dental vision and wellness services to improve access to compassionate coordinated treatment. We are committed to culturally respectful relationship-centered support that strengthens individuals and families.
What Youll Do as a School-Based Mental Health Therapist
- Provide counseling and behavioral health support to students in grades 112 across local partner schools.
- Conduct assessments evaluations and DSM-5-based diagnoses for students and patients.
- Deliver individual group and family therapy using evidence-based approaches including CBT and DBT.
- Develop monitor and adjust individualized treatment plans based on client progress and clinical needs.
- Respond to crises through intervention safety planning and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation treatment records and progress notes within required timelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers school staff families and community resources to coordinate support services.
- Educate clients and families on coping strategies wellness practices and available mental health resources.
- Travel to partner schools up to 40 miles away to support student counseling programs.
Our Ideal School-Based Mental Health Therapist
- Experienced: Has 1 years of clinical experience providing mental health therapy or counseling services in a clinical or community setting; experience working with children adolescents or diverse populations is a plus.
- Licensed or In-Training Clinician: Holds or is pursuing Wisconsin licensure as an LPC APSW LCSW LMFT or related behavioral health credential; Dual Certification in Mental Health and AODA is preferred.
- Adaptable and Driven: Responds calmly in changing environments takes initiative and adjusts therapeutic approaches to meet individual client needs
- Collaborative: Works effectively alongside healthcare providers school personnel and behavioral health teams to coordinate care.
- Organized Communicator: Maintains timely documentation manages treatment plans and communicates clearly with clients and care teams.
- Culturally Respectful Professional: Values relationship-based care and demonstrates sensitivity and compassion when serving Native American students families and communities.
What We Offer Our School-Based Mental Health Therapist
- Compensation: $33.84-$39.76/hour DOE
- Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday position 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Time Off: Generous PTO 21 paid holidays and birthday leave
