Our Client is building an AI-powered contract intelligence platform that validates purchased services invoices against contract terms before payment turning contracts into enforceable controls within healthcare procure-to-pay workflows .
This role exists to ensure the companys vendor and purchased services intelligence layer is best-in-class starting with building the industrys most accurate and scalable categorization schema down to the invoice line-item level.
Today deep expertise in how hospitals structure name and operationalize purchased services is limited. This role solves that gap by bringing domain ownership of vendor intelligence ensuring data model reflects real-world healthcare operations.

What youll own
Vendor Intelligence Categorization Strategy
Own and evolve the companys purchased services categorization schema
Extend categorization down to the invoice line-item level with high precision
Standardize how vendors services and categories are defined across health systems
Ensure categorization reflects how hospitals actually buy and use services across departments
Continuously refine taxonomy to improve accuracy usability and differentiation
AI Data Layer Partnership
Partner with engineering and AI teams to improve categorization models and outputs
Review and refine AI-generated categorizations to ensure real-world accuracy
Define rules edge cases and logic that improve model performance over time
Act as the domain expert translating healthcare services complexity into structured data
Vendor Intelligence System of Record
Build the foundation for the companys vendor intelligence layer across:
Vendor normalization
Service categorization
Contract-to-invoice mapping
Ensure data consistency across contracts invoices and vendor records
Help define how the company becomes the system of record for purchased services spend
Expansion into Recovery Vendor Operations
Expand from categorization into overpayment recovery workflows
Define how vendor discrepancies are identified communicated and resolved
Partner with customers and vendors to operationalize dispute workflows
Help design scalable processes for vendor engagement and resolution
Vendor Portal Platform Vision
Play a leadership role in building the companys future vendor portal
Define how vendors interact directly with the company (data disputes collaboration)
Help shape long-term vendor relationship management across the platform
Evolve from categorization - recovery - full vendor ecosystem ownership
Team Building Leadership
Hire and manage a team focused on vendor intelligence and categorization
Establish processes for quality control taxonomy governance and continuous improvement
Mentor team members and scale domain expertise across the organization
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
First 45 Days
Rapidly ramp on the platform messaging and ICP
Leverage prior experience and network to begin generating pipeline immediately
Engage in active deals and customer conversations within the first few weeks
By 90 Days
You refine and extend the categorization schema to a deeper line-item level
AI categorization accuracy measurably improves through your input
Key vendor and service categories are standardized across customers
You identify major gaps in how purchased services are currently structured and propose solutions
You begin laying the foundation for recovery workflows and vendor engagement
You operate as the internal expert on purchased services across product and GTM teams

You have deep experience with purchased services in healthcare (supply chain sourcing AP or consulting)
You understand how hospitals actually structure vendors contracts and services across departments
Youve worked with messy unstructured data and turned it into usable systems
You think in systems not just categories you design for scale and long-term use
You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and defining structure where none exists
You care about practical outcomes (accuracy usability impact) not theoretical models
You can bridge domain expertise with product and technical teams
Qualifications
712 years of experience in healthcare supply chain procurement AP or purchased services consulting
Deep expertise in purchased services categories (e.g. facilities IT clinical services outsourced operations)
Experience working with vendor data contracts or invoice-level detail
Strong understanding of procure-to-pay workflows especially invoice validation and exception handling
Experience building or managing categorization frameworks taxonomies or data models
Prior leadership experience or readiness to manage a team
Comfortable working in a startup or early-stage environment
Nice to have:
Experience with healthcare ERP/P2P systems (Workday Oracle SAP etc.)
Exposure to contract compliance invoice audits or recovery work
Experience working with AI/ML-driven products or data systems
Background in vendor management or supplier relationship management
Experience building or scaling internal data or intelligence functions
