Job Summary
Opportunity for an experienced (3-5 years) litigation attorney admitted in NY to handle the defense of personal injury cases.
Must be able to handle pleadings motions deposition reporting and independently manage a case load.
Duties
- Prepare original case analysis including addressing liability and value.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings motions and discovery requests.
- Prepare for and attend court hearings depositions and conferences.
- Respond to claims adjuster requests including status reports.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
- Maintain current and accurate billing hours.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Stay updated on changes in laws relevant to litigation practices.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the NY state bar.
- Experience in personal injury law.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
