Senior / Principal Nuclear Medicine Fusion Technologist Full-Time Opportunities
Position Overview
UCSF Medical Center is seeking two highly skilled Senior / Principal Nuclear Medicine Fusion Technologists to join our Nuclear Medicine team at the San Francisco Parnassus campus.
These full-time positions involve an 8-hour variable shift schedule including rotating weekends and holiday coverage. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified new hires.
The Nuclear Medicine Fusion Technologist performs routine to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role requires expertise in PET/CT imaging radiation safety quality assurance and collaboration within an acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards
Administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures
Collect prepare and analyze biologic specimens and imaging data
Ensure compliance with radiation safety and quality control procedures for all nuclear medicine equipment
Collaborate effectively with anesthesia teams and interdisciplinary patient care departments
Participate in orientation education and mentorship of staff students residents and faculty
Support departmental quality improvement and performance initiatives
Maintain flexibility to rotate shifts weekends holidays and UCSF locations as needed
Principal Nuclear Medicine Technologist QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Graduate of a JRCNMT-accredited Nuclear Medicine training program
CTNM certification through NMTCB or ARRT (N)
Active California Department of Public Health Nuclear Medicine Technologist license
Post-primary certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT or NMTCB-CT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Minimum 7 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Minimum 3 years of CT experience
Demonstrated competency in all routine PET/CT procedures and at least 3 of the following specialty PET/CT exams:
PET/CT with Multiphase CT
Pediatric
Cardiac
Neuro
Research
Advanced Responsibilities
Serve in lead/coordinator roles within the department
Participate in annual quality improvement and radiation safety initiatives
Assist in clinical and research protocol development and implementation
Demonstrate advanced teaching and mentorship capabilities for staff and trainees
Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program
Minimum 3 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
Flexibility to rotate locations schedules weekends and holidays
Demonstrated ability to teach at least two specialty procedures within six months of hire/promotion
CTNM certification through NMTCB or ARRT (N)
Active California Department of Public Health Nuclear Medicine Technologist license
Post-primary certification in Computed Tomography (ARRT or NMTCB)
BLS (CPR) Certification
