Lead Software Architect – AIML & Cloud Platforms

Honeywell is seeking aLead Software Architectto help define and drive the technical direction for nextgeneration cloudbased products with a strong focus onhandson software development AI/ML systems and scalable architecture.

This role sits within theInnovation Architecture and Threat Intelligence organizationand plays a key role in shaping how modern software platforms are designed built and evolved across multiple products and teams.

You will report directly to theChief Architectand work out of ourAtlanta GA locationon ahybrid schedule.

This is ahandson technical leadership rolefocused oncoding architecture and influence. You will work closely with senior engineers data scientists and product teams to design and prototype highimpact solutions from the earliest stages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Architecture & Development (Primary Focus)

• Lead the design and development of modern software architectures for cloud and distributed platforms using Python C# .NET React and microservices frameworks
• Remain handson in code building prototypes validating designs and guiding implementation decisions
• Partner with engineering teams to define scalable maintainable and highperformance architectures

AI / ML Engineering & Data Platforms (Primary Focus)

• Architect and contribute to AI/ML solutions used in product features and platform capabilities
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to design endtoend ML pipelines including data ingestion feature engineering training evaluation deployment and monitoring
• Help teams adopt best practices for productiongrade AI/ML systems in cloud environments

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Design systems for cloudnative and containerized environments
• Guide teams on architecture decisions across Azure GCP or AWS
• Ensure solutions are built with scalability reliability and performance in mind

Technical Leadership & Influence

• Act as a senior technical authority influencing architecture decisions across multiple teams
• Mentor engineers through design reviews technical discussions and handson collaboration
• Research emerging technologies and help translate them into practical product innovations

Security & Resilience (Supporting Focus)

• Partner with security and platform teams to ensure securebydesign principles are integrated into modern architectures

MustHave

• 10 years of experiencein software engineering software architecture or related technical roles
• Strong handson coding experiencein one or more of the following:Python C# .NET React
• Proven experience designing and buildingdistributed cloudbased systems
• Practical experience working with or alongsideAI/ML engineers or data scientists
• Demonstrated ability tolead technically influence architecture decisions and work across teams

We Value

• Experience as anAI/ML engineer data engineer or data scientist
• Experience building or supportingML pipelines in production
• Cloud platform experience (Azure GCP AWS)
• Familiarity withcontainerized and microservicebased architectures
• Exposure to cybersecurity concepts or secure system design
• Prior experience acting as asenior technical advisor or architect
• Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science Engineering Data Science or related field
