Description of Work

Central Regional Hospital is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse to work as a Nurse Facilitator in the Psychosocial Treatment Department. This primary duties of this position includes counseling interventions to assist patients in improving or regaining previous coping abilities as well as fostering mental health and preventing deterioration of mental illness and disability. This position attends and participates in treatment planning meetings as scheduled. This position provides in-service training to staff throughout the hospital as assigned by supervisor. When necessary this position covers other assigned duties of PST staff.

Salary Range: $61177.00 - $91767.00

*A Sign-on bonus of$10000may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Knowledge of the practice and application of nursing techniques and practices
  • Knowledge of medications and drugs common dosages their psychological physical and physiological effects and possible adverse reactions
  • Knowledge of abnormal signs and symptoms relating to physical and mental illness as well as indicators of wellness
  • Ability to lead a team; skill in delegation and making assignments

This position is Exempt from certain provisions of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)

This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. The normal working hours are Monday - Friday 7:30/8:00 a.m. to 4:00/4:30 p.m. and occasional weekends with notice; flexibility is required to meet hospital needs.

*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.


An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

  • The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government including the judicial system or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)

  • The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency

  • DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
