Role Scope:
We are looking for a dynamic service-oriented recreational therapist who is passionate about supporting elderlypersonsin their journey. The recreational therapist will work within a multidisciplinary care team led by a primary care provider to ensure whole-person integrated addition to direct participant services there is an opportunity to shape the companys recreational therapy program.

- Continue to raise the sharefeedback andhelp us implement changesin order toimprove clinical outcomes and experience for participants.

- Plans and implements small group or one-on-one activities for dementia-specific population including sensory daily flow of dementia activities area.
- Assistsparticipants and caregivers by providing leisure education for activity modification or skill development and supplies for in-home use as needed.
- Plansa variety of activities that include but are not limited to exercise arts and crafts celebrationsspecial events recreational games community outings and cognitive groups.
- Ensure participant needs are being met and appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior.
- Develops and distributes a monthly calendar of activities.
- Organizes community outings andspecial eventsat Day transportation entertainment catering and ADHC staff needed.
- Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team;attendsteam meetings and periodic changes in participants baseline status to appropriate staff on a daily basis.
- Maintains general order in activities area(s) including daily clean-up routine supply inventory ordering and overall general budgeting.
- Assesses involvement in activity for participants placed in group/nursinghomes;may include directvisitwith participants in these with nursinghomeand other community-based living facility staff toimpactparticipants in these settings.
- Completes documentation includinginitialassessments periodic reviews individual service plans and other data on participants as directed by the interdisciplinary team.
- Provideson-goingsupport to all staff involved in dementia-specific programming related to the dementia disease process.
- Transportsparticipants within the ADHC and rearrange activity rooms as needed.
- Maintains and promotes compliance with all regulatory requirements reimbursement standards organizational standards and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility.
- Completes annual competency requirements.
- Consistently achieveshigh standardsof accuracy in work product and documentation.
- Practices universalprecautionprocedures and proper safety techniquesin accordance withpolicies and procedures.
- Protects privacy andmaintainsconfidentiality of associates participants and other sensitive information.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification
- Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field from an accredited college/university.
- Twoyears experiencein a social or recreational program that coordinates and provides services for a frail or elderly population.
- A minimum of twoyears experienceworking with the frail or elderly.
- Working knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and practices of the elderly including assessments care plan development monitoring and with illnesses common to diverse populations including frail older developmentally or physical disabled adult populations.
- Working knowledge of physical psychosocial and behavioral needs of the elderly population.
- Demonstrate creative abilities to plan develop and implement varied activities to meet diversified needs.
- Must have excellent skills in verbal and written communication listening problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Displays sensitivity compassion and respect for people of diverse cultures.
- Proof of medical clearance for communicable diseases including a TB test.
- Proof of all immunizationsareup to date.
- Proof of current CPR/BLS certification required or requirement to obtain within30 daysofemployment..
- Proof of valid CA drivers license personal transportationgood drivingrecordand auto insurance as required by State law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual: Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred.
- Education or training in geriatrics and dementia programming preferred good working knowledge of dementia disease process.
- A state issued drivers license personal transportation and auto insurance as required by law.

Compensation:
We take into account an individuals qualifications skillset and experience in determiningfinalsalary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance short and long-term disability life insurance flexible spending accounts 401(k) savings paid time off and company-paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $30to $36. The actual offer will be at the companys sole discretion anddeterminedby relevant business considerations including the final candidates qualifications years of experience skillset and geographic location.
