Supervises:Operations Departments:Child Nutrition Athletics Maintenance & Custodial and Transportation
Job Goal
Oversee the districts various Operations departments ensuring school sites teachers and students are served.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Executive Director of Operations provides leadership to ensure district operations run safely efficiently and in a service-focused manner that supports teaching and learning. This role coordinates operational planning and problem-solving across multiple departments ensures compliance manages budgets and personnel and supports continuous improvement for district-wide services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support District Strategic Plan to carry out initiatives; develop operational action steps timelines and measures of success that support district goals
Train coach and support directors of assigned departments; build leadership capacity and ensure consistent implementation of procedures and service standards
Ensure facility and maintenance operations support the instructional goals of the district
Inspect district buildings/facilities and initiate cleaning and repairs as needed
Conduct on-site inspection of repair projects; monitor and inspect contract work
Assess and respond to needs related to job responsibilities; contribute to recommendations for sound policies and program improvement
Prepare review and revise job descriptions of all supervised departments areas as needed
Develop training opportunities and/or improvement plans to strengthen operations and service delivery
Evaluate employee job performance and make recommendations regarding placements transfers retention and dismissal
Direct and manage maintenance programs; ensure operations are cost effective and funds are managed prudently
Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs
Implement policies established by federal/state laws and guidelines State Board of Education rules and local board policies related toall departments and risk management
Compile maintain and file required reports records and documentation
Develop and maintain written departmental procedures for maintenance repair operation and security of district buildings/equipment
Oversee work order processes for repair and maintenance of buildings and grounds
Support planning/specifications for contracted repair work and site improvement as needed
Plan and direct inventory and stock control for equipment and supplies
Demonstrate support for district student management policies and expected student behavior related to operations areas
Maintain professional growth; model ethical responsible and professional conduct
Support school/community relations by articulating district mission and goals and building community support
Oversee and support district bond-funded capital projects from planning through completion including coordination with architects/engineers/contractors project schedules and quality expectation
Coordinate vendor services and monitor performance
Support documentation and tracking for bond-funded capital expenditures (contracts purchase orders invoices and related records) consistent with district bond compliance and record-keeping practices
Align operational priorities problem-solve cross-department needs and support district-wide initiatives with District level leadership
Knowledge of basic principles ofschool transportationmaintenance/custodial operationsathletics andchild nutrition
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills
