Job Summary
The 3D Mapping team is seeking a Software Engineer to help tackle all the challenging mapping scenarios our cities have to offer including highway mapping and mapping under difficult environment conditions. This work is critical for scaling autonomous driving in a safe and reliable way. We are looking for engineers who are ambitious and excited about helping Zoox deliver on its goals to deliver autonomous mobility.
In this role you will:
- Design develop and validate mapping algorithms for cities and highway driving.
- Collaborate in building a highly automated scalable multi-modality 3D mapping system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and technical roadmaps.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping requirements capture design implementation and validation.
Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proficient in C and Python
- Experience with factor graphs pose estimation SLAM probabilistic filtering and 3D data
- Strong mathematical skills
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with autonomous robots
- Experience with real-time sensor fusion (e.g. IMU LiDAR camera GNSS)
- Experience working with geospatial data and coordinate systems
$189000 - $227000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling as well as positioning within a level is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant years of experience domain knowledge and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
