Registered Nurse Med-Surge- 36 Hours (DayNight)

Schedule: 36 Hrs/wk Day/Night rotation (every Third Weekend/Rotating Holidays)

CMP 7 is a 30-bed med-surge unit providing care for intermediate level medical-surgical telemetry patients. The patient population consists of a wide range of general medical and surgical diagnoses and conditions including general surgery orthopedics vascular medicine neurology oncology and complex medicine patients. CMP 7 is certified as a primary stroke unit.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As an RN in the Medical Surgical unit you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical including assessing diagnosing planning intervening evaluating and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members patients and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCs nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Nursing degree: Diploma ASN or BSN (preferred) with ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• 1 years of RN experience preferred
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support(ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
• National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred and/or completed during orientation
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Experience with electronic health record preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.
