Job Summary
- Set up and operate the line in order to produce product that meets quality specifications maintain the machine systems make necessary adjustments and troubleshoot common machine/quality problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and complete initial thread up of machine i.e knife set up change paper
- Monitor process correct jams and other problems that occur.
- Prepare quality check sheet; ability to read a tape measure.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of line to GMP standards by removing paper and other trash removing dust and debris etc.
- Shut down equipment at end of shift daily and weekends.
- Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems; communicate more complex problems to maintenance.
- Understand functions of glue system; monitor in order to prevent spills.
- Complete changeovers as required in order to meet production demands.
Change core knives when necessary.
- Any other duties as requested or required.
- Operate forklift to replenish rolls of core paper if needed.
- Transport full cartons of cores to the designated storage or production area if necessary.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Ability to lift 35-45 lbs. Ability to stand ten hours (twelve during busy season) and walk up and down steps. Ability to work overtime when needed.
