About the role:
Be the voice of the council online
Digital channels are at the heart of how we communicate with our this role youll help make sure our messages reach people clearly quickly and creatively.
As a Digital Communications & Engagement Officer youll be one of the councils key online voices. Youll manage our social media channels day-to-day and play a part in everything from urgent public updates to celebrating major local events. No two days look the same.
A big part of your work will involve taking complex information about services projects and local issues and turning it into clear simple and engaging content that everyone can understand.

A way with words - You can write with flair tell a story and adapt your tone for different platforms and audiences.
A genuine interest in social media and tech - You keep up with trends algorithms and what works online.
Content creation skills - Whether its polishing a video or editing a photo youre always looking for fresh creative ideas.
Strong organisation - Its a fast-paced role so youll need to plan ahead and manage your time effectively.
Analytical thinking - You understand the value of data and can use insights to refine and improve content.
Customer focus - Youll help lead our social media inbox and respond in ways that are helpful thoughtful and aligned with our values.
People skills - You can build relationships offer guidance and make good judgements including when social media isnt the right tool for the job.
