Job Description:
The University of Florida invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration position. This 12-month non-tenure track position will be responsible for dynamic teaching and dissertation advising mentoring students and student support of the online Ed.D. and . programs along with the other programs within Higher Education Administration.
This 12-month non-tenure accruing faculty appointment will begin Fall 2026 and is based at the Gainesville FL campus. This is place-based in Gainesville with on-campus expectations. This is not a remote position. The positions primary assignment is teaching across fall spring and summer terms and advising dissertation committees.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach face-to-face and/or online classes at the doctoral level and potentially masters level as appropriate (Assigned courses will be tailored to the skills of the applicant). Develop course content.
  • Advise practitioner-oriented doctoral students and serve on Higher Education Administration doctoral committees. Serve on capstone and doctoral committees for the College of Education.
  • Provide support for Higher Education Administration students including advising students recruitment and tracking.
  • Provide service to the university and profession.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate in higher education administration student affairs or closely related field awarded by August 15 2026.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor graduate students
Preferred:
  • Professional experience in higher education administration ideally related to community colleges
  • Experience advising/mentoring students and developing meaningful experiences to guide student career and professional development
  • Previous graduate-level teaching experience in courses related to the following areas: higher education admin policy finance community colleges higher education leadership and student services/affairs
  • Previous experience serving on dissertation committees
  • Evidence of scholarly engagement in the field of higher education administration (e.g. conference presentations webinars publications)
  • Experience in the community college system and leadership
  • Active in their professional associations.
