Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Location: Fort Lauderdale FL 33308
Duration: 7 Weeks (Contract with possibility of extension)
Shift:
- Monday Friday: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM 12:30 PM
Work Setting: Onsite
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support both front and back office operations in a clinical setting. This role requires a hands-on professional who can provide high-quality patient care while ensuring smooth day-to-day clinic operations. Strong collaboration with clinical and administrative staff is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients while ensuring a positive patient experience
- Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls
- Record vital signs and update patient medical information
- Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures
- Administer vaccines and assist with clinical procedures
- Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Support both front-office and back-office operations as needed
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (in addition to externship)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (required/preferred based on facility standards)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR systems
- Strong communication organizational and computer skills
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Occupational Health settings
- Prior experience in both front-office and back-office clinical operations
Must-Have Skills
- Front and back-office clinical experience
- Phlebotomy and blood draw expertise
- EKG and point-of-care (POC) testing
- Patient scheduling and intake
- Patient rooming and vital signs measurement
