Job Summary
The Opportunity:
In this role you will report to the director of site services and will work closely with the Avantors Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

What were looking for
Education:High school diploma or GED is required; Associate or bachelors degree in supply chain operations life sciences business or related field is preferred
Experience: 3 years of experience supervising inventory and/or material management operations in laboratory production or supply chain environments.
Leading multiple subordinate supervisors or multi-site teams.
Analyzing operational data and implementing workflow improvements.
Collaboration Tool:Microsoft Office
Knowledge of inventory management systems material handling processes and data analysis tools.
Proficiency with standard office applications and digital workflow systems used for inventory tracking and service reporting.
Preferred: Lean Six Sigma APICS/ASCM or equivalent operations/supply chain certification.
Knowledge of inventory and material management workflows including receiving storage handling and distribution processes.
Understanding of workflow optimization and continuous improvement principles.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide multiple supervisors and onsite teams.
Analytical skills to evaluate operational data identify issues and develop solutions.
Exceptional communication skills for interacting with customers vendors and internal teams.
Ability to develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.
Work in a fast-paced customer-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Prioritize tasks refine work methods implement improvements and foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Avantors Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma pharmaceutical educational industrial and high-tech industries with customizable flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Oversee day-to-day execution of inventory and material management activities across one large site or multiple smaller customer sites.
Supervise multiple Inventory & Material Management Supervisors ensuring consistent service delivery and productivity.
Establish and communicate daily operational priorities aligned with service contracts SLAs and customer needs.
Workflow Optimization and Continuous Improvement
Review operational workflows and implement method enhancements to improve efficiency accuracy and throughput.
Identify systemic issues and drive corrective actions that reduce delays discrepancies or inefficiencies in material flow.
Contribute to Advanced Lab Services initiatives aimed at standardization lean optimization and quality improvement.
Quality Compliance and Service Delivery
Ensure all services comply with SOPs customer-specific requirements and regulatory expectations where applicable.
Monitor inventory handling accuracy reconciliation performance and adherence to chain-of-custody or hazardous material requirements as relevant.
Maintain documentation and performance metrics according to Advanced Lab Services and customer standards.
Issue Resolution and Risk Mitigation
Analyze operational data to resolve customer issues and service disruptions within the scope of materials management.
Escalate risks appropriately and coordinate with internal partners to prevent recurrence or minimize operational impact.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate communication with customer representatives vendors and Advanced Lab Services cross-functional teams to ensure shared understanding of priorities and constraints.
Provide supervisors with coaching feedback and performance guidance to support team effectiveness and engagement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Inventory accuracy rate (cycle counts reconciliations).
On-time material delivery and request-fulfillment performance.
Cycle-time metrics from receiving to put-away to distribution.
Customer satisfaction scores and feedback trends.
Supervisor and team performance indicators including productivity and compliance.
