NOC Operator

Job Description

Role: Junior NOC Operatror (able to work shifts)

Reports to: NOC Manager

Contract type: Permanent (based onsite)

Area: TygerValley Cape Town (must reside in Cape Town not need to relocate)

Salary: R15K R18K CTC Per Month

Requirements

• 0 1 years experience in IT support helpdesk or technical monitoring
• Basic understanding of computer systems networks and IT infrastructure
• CompTIA A N Security (Beneficial)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work rotating shifts (2-2-4 schedule)
• Own transport required

• Alert Response Time: 95% within 2 minutes
• Incident Logging Accuracy: 98%
• SOP Compliance: 100%
• Escalation Timeliness: 100% within defined timeframes
• Training Progress: 100% completion of assigned modules

Details of Function:

• System Monitoring & Response:
  • Continuously monitor network systems areas security systems and IT infrastructure through Zabbix and company cloud site status dashboards
  • Acknowledge and document system alerts within 2-minute response target
  • Follow standard operating procedures for incident identification and classification
  • Log incidents accurately using prescribed templates and ticketing systems
    • Document all communication related to the request/incident on ticket
  • Escalate issues to Intermediate operators according to established protocols
    • Field Service Technicians
    • Tier 2 Technical Operators
    • Tier 3/Development team
• Basic Technical Support:
  • Provide Level 1 technical support following step-by-step troubleshooting guides
  • Perform routine system health checks and status verification
  • Assist with basic connectivity and access issues
  • Document all actions taken during incident response
  • Provide remote guidance to on-site personnel for simple issues

• Documentation and Communication:
  • Maintain accurate shift logs incident reports and monitoring records
  • Participate in structured shift handovers to ensure operational continuity
  • Communicate status updates using standard communication formats
  • Follow established communication protocols during incident escalation
