Job Summary
The Sales Representative Domestic Theatrical Distribution plays a key role in driving the successful release and performance of Sony Pictures titles across the domestic market. Reporting to the Vice President or Executive Director this role partners closely with the broader sales team to execute distribution strategy manage exhibitor relationships and maximize theatrical revenue across a dynamic release slate.
The ideal candidate brings a strong interest in theatrical distribution sound business judgment and the ability to think strategically across all stages of a films release. This individual thrives in a fast-paced performance-driven environment takes ownership of exhibitor relationships and proactively identifies opportunities to strengthen box office results.
Responsibilities
Manage assigned exhibitor accounts and serve as primary day-to-day contact within designated territories.
Execute distribution and sales strategy across Sony releases to maximize location count playability run length and box office performance.
Negotiate playdates terms holdovers show schedules and other exhibition commitments in alignment with divisional goals.
Drive opening week objectives including location counts multiple prints premium large format placement and compliance with minimum show schedule and playtime requirements.
Oversee weekly holdover strategy and ongoing booking activities to optimize performance and retention throughout each titles theatrical lifecycle.
Build and maintain strong relationships with exhibitors buyers and circuit leadership to support long-term account growth and title performance.
Monitor market conditions account trends and competitive activity to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities.
Partner cross-functionally with finance operations marketing and other internal teams to support execution and resolve account issues.
Work with finance and exhibitors to address box office discrepancies settlements delinquencies and other account-related matters.
Maintain accurate booking records account updates and territory reporting in all relevant systems.
Develop strong working knowledge of internal and industry systems including DEX Comscore DICER and other reporting tools.
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external partners in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
Experience in theatrical distribution exhibition account management or related entertainment field preferred.
Passion for theatrical distribution and the evolving entertainment landscape.
Ability to negotiate effectively and apply sound judgment in account and release strategy decisions.
Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced sales environment.
Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Comscore Excel Word and Outlook and related internet software
