Job Summary
Position Summary
This is a temporary non-exempt position supporting daily bookstore operations in a fast-paced environment through October 30 2026 working up to 29 hours per week. The Bookstore Associate assists with inventory management receiving and organizing merchandise merchandising order fulfillment and providing customer service to the Harvard-Westlake community. This temporary assignment is expected to end on October 30 2026 and does not guarantee continued employment beyond that date.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to students employees and community members
- Support daily bookstore operations and perform assigned tasks as needed
- Receive count organize and stock incoming merchandise
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in deliveries
- Assist with product labeling organization and pricing
- Conduct inventory counts and verify stock across store sections
- Accurately pack course materials based on student picklists
- Safely use bookstore tools and equipment (e.g. tape guns box cutters)
- Adhere to all Harvard-Westlake safety guidelines and procedures
Qualifications
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Customer service mindset with clear communication skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing walking reaching and lifting
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 40 pounds

Compensation
Hourly rate up to $25.00 commensurate with experience.
