TheSeniorDirector of External Scientific Engagement Amyloidosisis a highly experienced scientific leader who shapes and leads the external stakeholder engagement strategy aligned to the medical strategy and ensures coordinated execution through strong partnership across theUS Medical Affairsorganization and other key internalstakeholders includingcross-functionaland global is a key scientific role that reports directly to the Medical Head Amyloidosis within theBioPharmaceuticalsBusiness Units US Medical CVRM franchise.

In this role the individual will bring deep experience inMedical Affairs external scientific engagement and stakeholder strategy to elevate AstraZenecas scientific leadership inamyloidosis includingATTR-CMandPN. The role requiressignificant experienceoperatingin complex matrixed environments leading cross-functional initiatives influencing senior stakeholders and translating scientific strategy into high-impact external engagement plans that drive meaningful outcomes for patients healthcare professionals and the broader medical community.

Whatyoulldo:

  • ESE Strategy and Delivery:Leadthe end-to-end external scientific engagement strategy plan and execution acrossESEengagement aligned to TA priorities and congressstrategies derivingtransparency consistency and measurable impact.
  • Senior Strategic Leadership: Serve as a senior thought partner to the Medical Head and broader Medical Affairs leadership team contributing substantialexpertiseto shape medical priorities engagement models and long-range scientific plans in amyloidosis.
  • Unified External Interface: Develop and drive a coherentagileand high-impactexternal presence that advances AstraZenecas scientific leadership agendain ATTR-CM and PN ensuring our voice istimely data-driven and trustedin front of external stakeholders.
  • Transforming Care: Design and deliverstrategicengagements that catalyze practicechangestreamlining pathways from diagnosis to initiation and persistenceso patients realize the benefits of new launches quickly and sustainably.
  • Innovation: Introduce novel solutions anddifferentiatedmodels for external engagement thatstrengthenAstraZenecas scientific reputation expand our reach and accelerateevidenceadoption in clinical practice.
  • Cross-functionalLeadership:Provide leadership across Medical Affairs and partner functions to drive a coordinated and enterprise-minded engagement approach ensuring alignment of execution with strategic medicalobjectivesand business priorities.
  • Capability Building: Help strengthen organizational capability by sharing best practices mentoring colleagues and contributing to the evolution of external scientific engagement models tools and ways of working.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all activities tools and systems meet the highest ethical and compliance standardsembedding rigor clarity and accountability in everything we do.

Essential for the role:

  • Advanced scientificdegree ( PhD or PharmD)
  • Medical/clinical/scientificexpertiseinAmyloidosis
  • 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industryincluding substantial experiencein Medical Affairsrolesandpreferably experience inAmyloidosis
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with executive presence
  • Demonstratedtrack recordin senior or highly visible rolesdelivering results in a complex matrix environment building capabilities and leading large scale impactful medical initiatives
  • Proven experience shaping and executing external engagement strategies
  • Proven ability to collaborateandbuild internal and external networks
  • Strong analytical mind-set and ability to quickly assesslarge amountsof information and distil into key messages and actions
  • Persuasive oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver impactful presentations& F2F engagements
  • Proven ability to collaborate with individuals of diverse experience and backgrounds across varying functions levels within the company or external organizations to effectively deliver on goals
  • Strong business acumen familiarity with the US healthcare system and key regulations in the pharmaceutical industry

The annual base pay for this position ranges from$243586.40 - 365379.60 USD.Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and addition our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility toparticipatein our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program 401(k) plan; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical prescription drug dental and vision coveragein accordance withthe terms and conditions of the applicable of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired employee will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
