Your Role as an Activities Assistant:

• Assist in planning developing and implementing engaging daily activity programs
• Encourage and support resident participation through regular visits and relationship-building
• Lead and facilitate group and individual activities as scheduled
• Assist in gathering resident interests and contributing to individualized activity care plans
• Document resident participation and progress in activities
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate programs and special events
• Participate in resident council meetings and provide support as needed
• Create a positive inclusive and engaging environment for residents
• Follow all infection control safety andHIPAA guidelines
• Attend requiredtrainings in-services and team meetings

What Were Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous experience in activities or a healthcare setting preferred but not required
• Energetic creative and compassionate personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to remain calm and patient in emotionally demanding situations
• Comfortable working with elderly individuals including those who may be ill or cognitively impaired
• Physically able to stand walk bend and assist residents as needed
• Ability to lift push or pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read write and speak English
