The Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment will assist with leadership and vision in the ongoing planning implementation development direction review and evaluation of the districts curriculum and instructional services career and technical education services assessment research and evaluation services. The Director ensures that the district/school education objectives are aligned to state frameworks and to instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Build and develop positive working relationships with teachers staff and administrators.
- Assist and support in the development implementation coordination evaluation and assessment of the educational programs.
- Facilitate and support individual grade levels curricular departments instructional coaches and content area leaders to assist them in the development implementation evaluation and revision of curriculum to ensure vertical alignment and consistency of scope and sequence.
- Support staff in analyzing student achievement data to drive instruction and provide additional support/intervention/extensions as needed.
- Assist in the selection and purchase of instructional materials equipment and textbooks.
- Assist in the preparation of the instructional program budget recommendations and administration of the instructional program budget.
- Participate in professional development and keep informed of current research and trends in the areas of curriculum instruction and assessment.
- Works with building and district staff to develop professional development to support teachers and staff in the areas of curriculum instruction and assessment.
- Manage electronic versions of curriculum in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Coordinate and assist buildings in carrying out testing and assessment programs.
- Facilitate the development implementation and evaluation of a program of reporting to parents on the educational progress of children.
- Support building administrators in the PLC process and the development and implementation of RTI/MTSS as necessary.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting virtual learning programming and curriculum.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting alternative educational programming and curriculum.
- Attend Board of Education meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
- Prepare reports for the Board of Education in areas related to job responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Assistant Superintendent which the employee is qualified to do.
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree or higher required
- Valid Missouri Teaching certification
- Proven record of successful teaching experience
- Professional Learning communitiestraining preferred
- Expertise in curriculum design and the ability to ensure proper alignment across K-12
- Data proficiency in analyzing state and local assessments to improve student outcomes.
- Knowledge of instructional frameworks
- Strong communication skills for reporting to the Board of Education and community stakeholders.
- Adaptability to operational conditions.
