Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support Operating Room services in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This role involves assisting in a wide range of surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses while maintaining a safe sterile and efficient surgical environment.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of surgical procedures sterile techniques infection control practices and operating room protocols. Orthopedic experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms with surgical instruments sterile drapes supplies and equipment
Maintain sterile field in accordance with hospital policy and AORN standards
Perform scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties
Pass instruments and sterile supplies during procedures
Assist with retractors suturing support and surgical counts (sponges needles instruments)
Prepare and manage medications under RN and surgeon supervision
Assemble and adjust sterile and non-sterile equipment
Assist with patient positioning and transport
Handle and prepare surgical specimens for lab analysis
Apply surgical dressings and assist post-procedure transfers
Operate OR equipment (lights suction devices sterilizers)
Support room turnover and restocking between cases
Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols
Collaborate with surgeons nurses and surgical team members
Participate in staff meetings training and onboarding support
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (civilian or military)
NBSTSA Certification (must be current and maintained)
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and infection control standards
Experience working in an Operating Room / Surgical Services environment
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications
Orthopedic surgical experience
Experience in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting
