DescriptionAn opportunity has arisen to join the Financial Institutions Political Risk & Structured Credit team within the Credit Risk Solutions (CRS) global line of business. The role supports the marketing negotiation and placement of political risk and structured credit insurance solutions for a range of clients across the Lloyds and Company Markets. The position is suited to a motivated individual with an interest in political risk credit and trade finance operating within a global broking environment.
The role involves supporting and executing insurance placements across political risk and structured credit products while engaging closely with clients underwriters and internal stakeholders.
The Role
- Marketing and placing transactions from non-binding indication through to binding and confirmation of cover.
- Executing placements across multiple products including Political Risk Comprehensive Non-Payment Contract Frustration/Credit and Pre- and Post-Shipment risks.
- Preparing market submissions analyzing client requirements and providing structured market feedback.
- Supporting existing and new clients through policy placement processes from initial engagement to first-time binding.
- Structuring insurance solutions for clients operating in both OECD and emerging markets.
- Managing day-to-day engagement with insurers across the Lloyds and Company Markets including wording discussions where required.
- Supporting portfolio and operational management activities including policy documentation endorsements monitoring tools invoicing coordination and claims assistance.
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance frameworks regulatory requirements and the Client Excellence Model.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the CRS business on projects and initiatives as required.
QualificationsWhat youll bring
- Strong experience within the Political Risk insurance market and/or trade finance sector
- Good understanding of London insurance market practices and placement processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with underwriters and clients.
- Exposure to policy wording discussions and negotiations.
- Strong communication presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical capability with the ability to interpret and use data effectively.
- Working knowledge of compliance obligations and FCA regulation.
- Willingness to work towards professional insurance qualifications (e.g. ACII) where applicable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word.
- Additional language skills are advantageous but not essential.
