NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children young people families and older people through our community-based services and health centers. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the persons needs.

We are seeking a passionate and recoveryoriented Occupational Therapist to join our integrated community homelessness mental health this role you will work closely with consumers and their families delivering highquality personcentered occupational therapy that supports meaningful participation and improved wellbeing.

You will provide specialist assessment along with evidencebased individual and group interventions designed to enhance occupational engagement and promote recovery. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team you will also take on care coordination responsibilities or contribute to the broader functioning of the service where required ensuring consumers receive seamless and responsive support.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Degree in Occupational Therapy with current Occupational Therapy registration with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated knowledge in mental health assessments and documentation and a working understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act and related regulation.
  3. Demonstrated ability to utilise occupational therapy assessments and interventions to support consumers recovery utilising independent professional judgement and seeking supervision in line with level of experience knowledge and skills.
  4. An understanding of recovery orientation including collaborating with consumers their families and carers to achieve outcomes that support consumers recovery.
  5. Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal skills the ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary teamas well as the ability to work effectively with service partners to support consumers recovery.
  6. Able to participate as a member of the team in quality improvement activities development of policies and procedures and clinical research.
  7. Demonstrated high level written documentation computer competency and oral communication skills.
  8. Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
