Job Title: Medical Assistant Location: Fort Lauderdale FL 33308 Contract Duration: 8 Weeks Schedule: Monday Friday 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring efficient workflow delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining strong collaboration with the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and room patients while maintaining efficient patient flow
Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls
Accurately take and document patient vital signs
Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture) and specimen collection
Assist with EKG procedures and point-of-care (POC) testing
Administer vaccines as directed by clinical staff
Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
Provide general clinical and administrative support
Ensure compliance with safety quality and clinical protocols
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care delivery
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (externships not included)
Experience in both front and back office settings
Hands-on experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture
Familiarity with EKG and POC testing
Experience working with EMR systems
Strong communication and computer skills
High attention to detail and patient-focused approach
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
Certifications
Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
BLS or CPR Certification required (Non-certified candidates may be considered based on experience)
