Key job responsibilities
* Design implement and deploy large-scale systems that support complex workforce management challenges
* Collaborate with technical teams customers and stakeholders to understand problems deeply and develop thoughtful solutions
* Write clean well-tested code and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards across the codebase
* Mentor and support other engineers through knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving
* Take ownership of features and services from design through production ensuring reliability and performance

A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer on the Workforce Core Organizations team youll focus on designing and implementing scalable systems that serve our internal workforce of overpeople globally. Your day might include collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand intricate business problems writing and reviewing code that meets our highest standards and contributing to the architecture of products that enable Amazon to operate seamlessly. Youll participate in code reviews engage in technical discussions with colleagues across different teams and take ownership of features from conception through deployment. Beyond core development work youll have opportunities to mentor peers share knowledge through technical discussions and help shape the future direction of our platform.

Our team works at the intersection of scale and impactmanaging hiring cycles that bring on over 200000 employees in just four weeks while supporting the day-to-day operations of our global workforce. Were building the next generation of workforce management technology and were looking for engineers who are excited about ownership and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our customers are internal teams across Amazon who depend on our solutions to operate effectively. Were committed to insisting on the highest standards in architecture coding testing and deployment and we believe in supporting each others growth through collaboration and mentorship.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical dental vision prescription Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans EAP Mental Health Support Medical Advice Line Flexible Spending Accounts Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage) 401(k) matching paid time off and parental leave.
