Senior Application Database Administrator

The Senior Application Database Administrator plays a key role in designing supporting and improving cloud-based databases that power modern applications. This person partners closely with engineering DevOps and platform teams to ensure databases are reliable scalable secure and optimized for performance. This is a hands-on role with strong technical leadership where you will guide best practices and help teams build solutions that work well in cloud environments while supporting business-critical applications. You will report to the Software Development Agile Developer.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design performance and reliability of cloud-based application-facing databases
• Partner with engineering teams to build scalable resilient and cost-efficient database solutions
• Guide best practices for database design schema changes and performance tuning
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues leading root cause analysis when needed
• Implement standards guardrails and automation to improve database operations
• Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across engineering and database communities

Qualifications :

• 7 years of experience working with application databases or in DBA roles including cloud environments
• Strong expertise in at least one relational database platform (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server Oracle)
• Hands-on experience with cloud-managed database services and modern architectures
• Advanced skills in SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting production systems and making sound technical decisions independently
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across diverse teams
