Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Fort Lauderdale FL 33308
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Schedule: Monday Friday 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring efficient workflow delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining strong collaboration with the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients while maintaining efficient patient flow
- Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls
- Accurately take and document patient vital signs
- Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture) and specimen collection
- Assist with EKG procedures and point-of-care (POC) testing
- Administer vaccines as directed by clinical staff
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems
- Provide general clinical and administrative support
- Ensure compliance with safety quality and clinical protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient care delivery
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (externships not included)
- Experience in both front and back office settings
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture
- Familiarity with EKG and POC testing
- Experience working with EMR systems
- Strong communication and computer skills
- High attention to detail and patient-focused approach
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
Certifications
- Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
- BLS or CPR Certification required
(Non-certified candidates may be considered based on experience)
