Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Department: Pediatric Primary Care
Location: Neptune NJ 07754
Schedule: Monday Friday
Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
Duration: 43 Weeks (Contract)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and administrative functions in a pediatric primary care setting. This role works under the supervision of a licensed medical provider to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
- Assist healthcare providers during patient exams and procedures
- Record vital signs and document patient medical histories
- Administer pediatric immunizations as required
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG PFT and audiometry (as applicable)
- Conduct phlebotomy urine drug screening (UDS) breath alcohol testing (BAT) and other lab procedures upon competency validation
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Perform medication reconciliation and assist with follow-up on lab/test results
- Educate patients and families on preventive care and health maintenance
- Support front-office duties including scheduling patient intake demographics and basic billing functions
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations policies and patient confidentiality standards
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (pediatrics preferred)
- Proficiency in taking vital signs patient rooming and administering pediatric immunizations
- Strong communication organizational and multitasking skills
Certifications & Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Required
- One of the following certifications required:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA NHA NCCT or AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA AMT or NAHP)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA AMCA)
