Responsibilities
This position coordinates the nursing activities between multiple service areas of a department.
Provides care and/or service to neonates pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients.
OPERATING ROOM CLINICAL COORDINATOR
- Establishes daily work schedules and assignments for assigned shift to ensure appropriate
staffing for scheduled surgical procedures. Evaluates and adjusts staffing assignments as
needed during shift. - The 7-3 Clinical Coordinator will deliver morning and afternoon shift reports.
- Works closely with scheduling on a daily basis to evaluate identify and make scheduling
changes to enhance services. - Closely monitors the surgery schedule for the assigned shift and identifies and implements
changes that will facilitate the timely accommodation of surgical cases. Serves as the
communication liaison for physicians patients families staff and other departments to
facilitate these changes. - Directly supervises the nursing and ancillary staff for the assigned shift.
- In collaboration with the Administrative Coordinator assumes responsibility for the counseling and disciplinary actions for the assigned staff.
- Serves as a resource to staff for troubleshooting and resolving issues that occur
intraoperatively. - Collaborates with the Clinicians Surgical Processing and Purchasing to ensure appropriate
supplies and instrumentation are available to meet departmental needs. - Participates in taking Supervisor Call on a rotating basis.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and licensed in the state of Georgia.
- Four (4) years of experience in nursing with minimum of two (2) years in area of specialty.
- Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life support certification
