Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician you will play a vital role in maintaining the excellence of our SQF-certified food manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician will perform highly diversified duties to install troubleshoot repair and maintain production and facility equipment while acting as a technical support resource and providing a multi-skilled service for our production team. The Maintenance Technician will be tasked to support their own projects/improvements to be completed in support of a facility that operates 24 hours a day 5 days a week. This role will report directly to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Perform highly diversified duties to install maintain and repair all necessary equipment verifying and testing all repairs to ensure they are completed with quality and accuracy.

• Adequately utilize electronic equipment and software. (i.e. PC phone email CMMS etc)

• Maintain facility and equipment throughout the plant; consisting of but not limited to mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic etc.

• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.

• Proactively identify issues and opportunities for improvement and utilize the CMMS system to document the issues. i.e. write a Work Order (WO).

• Comply with work safety and environmental policies and procedures.

• Maintain and update records accurately and timely; including but not limited to WOs PMs Call Logs Shift Reports adding parts labor notes pics status changes etc....

• Self-motivated to stay consistently busy throughout shift helping to impact change and improvement while potentially working independently in a mature and professional manner.

• Maintain positive working relationship with all departments and sustain constant communication within the shift and department.

• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while working indoors and/or outdoors.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• At least 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment (food processing equipment experience desirable).

• Ability to use logic and reasoning skills to identify alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.

• Strong pneumatic mechanical electrical and industrial skills; experience with PLCs and VFDs.

• Strong work ethic and commitment to attendance.

• Ability to perform duties independently or with minimal supervision while maintaining a high degree of integrity.

• Strong analytical troubleshooting organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Valid drivers license.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes on the production line.

Physical Requirements:

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

• Excellent hand/eye coordination.

• Able to work in a warehouse with temperatures that can range from -10F to above-normal heat conditions.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally above shoulder height.

• Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights horns and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.

• Prolonged periods sitting standing and walking.

• Must be physically able to climb ladders bend or crawl into awkward spaces.

• Must be able to visually inspect machines.

• Welding skills (MIG - Steel TIG Steel/Aluminum) are preferred.

• Must be able to safely maintain x-ray and metal detection equipment ensuring compliance with safety protocols and proper handling procedures.

• Ability to work in high voltage areas adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
